Byrnes struggles to escape her record

Pam Byrnes is attempting to move from left to center in her campaign for Congress, claiming to be an independent voice, but a look at her record in the state legislature paints a liberal picture.

While serving in the legislature, Byrnes voted for countless taxes – a 6% sales tax on services, an 11.5% income tax increase, and a 22% business tax surcharge. In addition she voted for a new tax on doctors, and higher gas taxes, all while Michigan’s families were struggling in a tough economy.

Byrnes’ full-throated support of Obamacare also shows a very liberal bent. Byrnes does not want to replace the law with anything better saying “I consider repealing Obamacare, a waste of time.”

With a record like that, it’s hard to believe Byrnes would be an independent voice for Michigan families.  Instead, she seems to be just another politician.
